The singer debuts a new 'do in time for her Manila concert. Dig it or ditch it?
Mar 15, 2012
First was her banged, power-suit-wearing alter ego for the cover of Preview January-February and now, a month later, Charice debuts an even newer re-do with her blonde razor sharp cut. Rihanna? Avril Lavigne?
Perhaps not quite, but the singer does do the job of making head turns as she aims to transform her image to mimic the edginess of the previously mentioned performers. While her chunky highlighted hair may not channel Umbrella or Sk8r Boi singers upon first glance, her direct peg for the cut was that of Lightning, the protagonist in the video game Final Fantasy XIII which is a favorite of brother Carl. Incidentally, the singer has other special ties with the Final Fantasy franchise as she was tapped to sing the theme song of the recent release.

Charice releases her debut CD in 2009, My Inspiration, with her mid-length locks lightly curled.
In May 2010, the singer covers Total Girl Philippines with ashy-hued brown side waves.
2010 also marks the release of her eponymous CD, Charice where we notice some warm golden highlights on her windblown hair.
Officially a Gleek, Charice makes an appearance singing Lady Gaga's Telephone with Lea Michelle on the hit US show in some pre-teen pigtails.
Arriving at the Preview January-February 2012 shoot, the singer showed off her almost waist-length hair worn stick straight.
At the shoot, faux bangs and extensions were put in to thicken up the cover girl's mane.
In the midst of her worldwide tour, Charice lands in Manila for the local leg of her concert with a sharp, blonde and anime-inspired cut.
Together with her new cut comes some new ink. Her left forearm now bares the words, "Love Eternally".
With her teeny-bopper floral dresses nowhere to be seen, the Louder singer instead embraces an edgier wardrobe with perforated leggings and structured silhouettes.
Leather was also big at the show, like this motorcycle vest worn with shredded pants and finger-less lace gloves.
Dark eye makeup created contrast with her lighter locks.
