Sarah Geronimo (R) is crossing her fingers that her duet with Charice pushes through
MANILA, Philippines – A plan to have Sarah Geronimo record with Charice is in the works.
Geronimo herself said so in an interview with abs-cbnnews.com. “Nasa planning stage pa lang siya and I'm hoping na matuloy kasi international pop sensation si Charice," she was quoted as saying.
"It's still in the planning stage and I hope it pushes through because Charice is an international pop sensation."
Geronimo deems the yet-to-be-finalized collaboration a big honor, admitting she is among Pempengco’s horde of admirers.
Discussing minutiae about the project, Geronimo said, “Single yung gagawin. Dito gagawin [recording] sa Pilipinas pero kung saan ire-release yan po ang inaayos. Depende sa both side kung saan mag-agree."
"A single is what's going to be made. It's going to be made [recorded] here in the Philippines but where it will be released, that's still being coordinated. It depends on both sides where it will be agreed."
If the recording pushes through, it will be the singers first collaboration.
Geronimo and Pempengco first met on the now defunct singing contest, "Little Big Star." Geronimo was host of the show while Pempengco was among the contenders.
Although Pempengco only placed third in the tilt, she went on to bigger things thereafter, this, after videos of her performances as uploaded on YouTube were seen by the likes of Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey. She is now shooting "Here Comes The Boom," her second Hollywood film, after "Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel."
Geronimo, on the other hand, is set to do a concert tour with Martin Nievera dubbed "What Love Is" in July.
