Charice laglag kay Jessica!
Charice degraded for Jessica!

I hope we do not degrade Charice for what we did to elevate Jessica Sanchez. The comments I have read from our colleagues in the business have been very unfair and not very nice to our countryman, who was the first to be recognized in America and is more Pinoy. In their quest to idolize the American Idol finalist, they didn't care to step on Charice's pride, whose success is something she also worked hard to achieve. Why are we like that? Charice is our countryman, and we witnessed her dedication so that she can reach her destination. Now that she has achieved the fruits of her labor, we are just dismissing her and want her to be overtaken by an American who has Pinoy blood. No matter what your anger is towards Charice, she has achieved something that many Pinoys haven't and she was born in this country. Instead of being happy because Charice never disowned her own roots, it is through us where mistreatment against her originates. Let's not be like that. I hope that Charice's extended stay here, where she will serve as a judge on The X Factor Philippines along with Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, and Pilita Corales, will make us appreciate the value of what one Pinay did to elevate our country in the international music scene, even if more FilAm like Jessica Sanchez arrive.
