Many of the American Idol season eleven viewers have been awed by the AI runner up Jessica Sanchez’s captivating voice. We have all been witnesses to how powerful her voice really is and how she impressed the judges of the said show. It didn’t even come as a great surprise that she made it to the top three. Many have even predicted that she would win, and when she didn’t, a lot of her fans were completely dismayed, but that was yesterday’s news. Many may have thought that it’s about time for her to finally get on with her career and take a few steps forward to begin a promising journey in the music Industry.
We have recently heard that the sixteen year old singer has signed up under Interscope Records, and she and American Idol winner Phillip Phillips will be working under the same label. The long wait may be over for her fans as they must have heard that Jessica has already started working on her new album. Her fans must have been completely thrilled about this, and now, she has once again given them something to look forward to.
Now, rumor has it that a movie adaptation of one of the most famous musicals of all time, Ms. Saigon, will happen and we might get to see Jessica in it. We just might, considering the fact that she’s talented enough to play the lead role. ‘Miss Saigon’ is a romantic tragedy, this is the story of a Vietnamese prostitute who fell deeply in love with an American soldier in the course of the Vietnam War in Saigon. This will be directed by Lee Daniels, it has been planned for about three years now, so we could get to expect that this might actually turn out to be splendid. Lots of talented people will be working on this as well, the same talented people who were behind the ‘Les Miserables’ film adaptation with Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway.
Many of us may have already expected that Jessica will be getting big projects after AI. With her amazing voice quality, she just might grab the lead role seeing as how she could sing Whitney Huoston and Mariah Carey’s songs with ease. She has never acted before, but you might want to know that Leah Salonga, Broadway’s original Ms. Saigon, has openly admitted that it’ll be a good thing to consider Sanchez for the role.
Details about the film release have not been out yet, so we might still have to wait a while for it. Also, rumor has it that the Glee guest performer Charice Pempengco might get the role. Now that could make things just a little more interesting, right? Who do you think will be the next Ms. Saigon? Do you think Jessica will be able to handle acting and singing for the film adaptation? Maybe she won’t, maybe she will, but were sure that her fans will still be supporting her all the way!
