This past weekend’s 25th Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards brought to light some great talent — and not to mention some great sliming moments! Glancing through the list of nominees and winners we noticed a few Asian acts that many United States pop fans don’t know, but we believe would instantly fall in love with.

Winner of the 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards, Charice began competing in local singing competitions in the Philippines at 17. Soon, she became an Internet sensation as her voice was carried over to YouTube by her fans. Her powerful voice in “Louder” makes it clear why her fans had faith in her!



Yuna began her love affair with a guitar and writing music in Malaysia at 19, and has won awards for songs in both English and Malay. Her single “Live Your Life” is hauntingly beautiful and is the first from her forthcoming self-titled album.



Wonder Girls is a superwomen girl band from South Korea. In the past Sohee An, Yubin Kim, Sun Min, Yenny Park, and Lim Woo have opened for the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber. They are the first Korean band to make it to the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The music video for the upbeat track “The DJ Is Mine” makes you want to get on your feet and start dancing.



Born in Indonesia, Agnes Monica began her singing career at the early age of six. She is a multiplatinum singer with several awards under her name. Her theatrical music video for “Paralyzed” ties beautifully to the lyrics of the song.
