Charice gave Filipinos another reason to celebrate after being named Favorite Asian Act in the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA). To watch Charice accept her award, fans should tune in to Nickelodeon as the KCA premieres on Saturday, April 14, at 10:00 a.m.
Replays are also slated for April 16 at 6:00 p.m., April 18, at 12:00 p.m., and April 20 at 8:00 p.m.
Winning the coveted orange blimp in the newly-launched category, Charice bested other beloved music acts from the region, The Wonder Girls of South Korea, Yuna of Malaysia, and Agnes Monica of Indonesia.
More global than ever, this year’s Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards was seen in over 300 million households around the world. Among the major winners were Adam Sandler for Favorite Movie Actor; Kristen Stewart for Favorite Movie Actress; Selena Gomez for Favorite Female Singer and Favorite TV Actress; and Justin Bieber for Favorite Male Singer. Taylor Swift received The Big Help Award from presenter US First Lady Michelle Obama, who lauded the country singer for her extensive charity work, especially with tornado and flood survivors in the United States.
Nickelodeon, now in its 32nd year globally and 14th year in Asia, is the number-one entertainment brand for kids. Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. are seen in more than 60 million households throughout North and Southeast Asian region with 24-hour programming services including Nickelodeon Southeast Asia, Nickelodeon Japan, Nickelodeon Korea, as well as Nickelodeon branded program blocks and syndications.
