Charice - XFactorPhilippines S01E01

i just thought about it... the Juicy tv show.. said Charice is like a one word judge.. and now those Pinoy crabs who are just the same as the Juicy people.. said that Charice is OA.. gosh.. Pinoys you just don't know what to believe. that's why in real life.. once one said something to me like a gossip or they say it's a fact.. I DON'T BELIEVE THEM.. i maybe listening or looking at them.. but if you ask me what do i think.. i always say.. "I DON'T KNOW" i only believe what i know not someone just told me and i go along with it..

i think Charice was just true to herself.. though i would probably lessen saying to the contestants.. "i know how you are feeling, i went through that." coz the show is not about their life story but their talent and how they can get people go along with them.. with this one.. i would go with Kedebol.. he got the people going.. dance with him and just party with him.. mind you.. he is no hunk or handsome.. but he got that X Factor that made people liked him..

I haven't seen the show yet. And I tried to avoid my Charice search twitter timeline the entire day. But from what I've read from Chasters I follow makes me thank God for that wise decision. LOL.

I think Charice was just trying to empathize with the contestants since she's the only one in that panel of judges that have honestly been in their places. I get the impression that the 3 other judges (and the host for that matter) came from privileged lives and never had to resort to talent competitions just to put food on the table. We should also keep in mind that the show is pre-recorded and heavily edited.

What I don't get is the lack of sympathy when Charice broke down upon hearing one of the contestants sing her Dad's favorite song. Makes me ashamed that these people have no hearts.

true clothes.. i agree with you on that one.. her co judges were so worried about her breaking down when she thought of her dad on that contestant.. felt bad for her, i felt that it is just too soon for her not to think of her dad since i think the last video of her dad that she have seen was when he was singing the kareoke.. i have a feeling this is not going to be the last of her breaking down.. since they have a category of mature people that can sing..

it's totally within the formula of the notorious FOX contest shows.
charice is doing a good job, but like in germany, the show creates negative sentiments and brute behavior while at the same time gets great ratings. in the US and UK it works better and they are more decent. different humor in the culture.
I'm afraid they will continue to exploit her sensitivity and intense emotion.

their worst prank is juggling with identity and active/passive role.
charice may have true, intense emotion and gets carried away, but the camera/director is creating an image of overreaction, by stressing the other judges soothing her, magnify that picture for a long time, play cheesy super-drama music, all these cheap tools.
so, the overreaction by other persons and the magnifying cam will twist the thing as if it was charice who is overacting and fake.

also, the girl with a low voice, can we be sure it wasn't tampered? currently I have no facility to experiment, but our sound gurus here can give it a try. there is this "voice changer" plugin, they have it in the newer autotune/melodyn suites. to me, it sounds very much like formant resynthesis. definitely, this type of show makes intense use of technology and special effects to create an artificial image of some elements, like incidents, vocal sounds, colors, what-have-you. they love confusion. :) next day, big discussion in the streets. ratings go up then.
they might bring up yogi-flying and faith-healers as well ;)
it's the franchise, it is in the whole contract.

I could recognize many elements of that basic formula.

how to deal with this, I'm not sure.
perhaps audience in return should overreact in such a crass way that producers pee their pants, so to give back the excitement.
or just laugh, and not believe anything that is shown to them.
