'X Factor' pilot dominates ratings, Twitterverse

MANILA, Philippines -- Reality singing contest "The X Factor" proved irresistible for Filipino audiences, as the premiere of its Pinoy edition dominated television ratings and was among the most talked about topics on Twitterverse.
"The X Factor Philippines," which had a two-part weekend premiere last Saturday and Sunday, led the ratings race during its time slot, according to the national TV ratings data of Kantar Media.
The KC Concepcion-hosted show was ahead of its competition on Saturday by more than 10 percentage points, earning a 25.1% audience share.
The show achieved the same feat on Sunday -- overtaking its rival shows by 10 percentage points -- as it posted a national TV rating of 20.3%.
Meanwhile on micro-blogging site Twitter, "The X Factor Philippines" also trended worldwide, as thousands of Filipinos took to the social networking site to express their excitement for and reactions to the show.
"Charice" also became a worldwide trending topic, as various reactions to the international singing sensation's judging stint on the show were tweeted at rapid pace on the micro-blogging site.
Charice, along with the three other judge-mentors Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano and Pilita Corrales, continue their search for Pinoys with the "x factor" this week -- Saturday after "Maalaala Mo Kaya," and Sunday after "Sarah G Live."
