Manila, Philippines – CHARICE is gracefully establishing her niche abroad with her recent recognition at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards for Favorite Asian Act.
The young Filipina singer, who’s come a long way since participating at more than a handful of singing contests, couldn’t be more grateful for the award she received.
On April 2, she tweeted a photo of herself holding the orange blimp, and said, “yey! we won!!! #NickKCA.”
Charice is most especially grateful to her fans, collectively known as Chasters.
“Thank You, Chasters for all the hardwork. I love you all… <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 8” she tweeted.
The “Pyramid” singer reportedly got six million votes from fans worldwide, besting other nominees namely Indonesian singer Agnes Monica, Korean female pop group Wonder Girls, and Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna.
About two years ago, Charice was also recognized internationally, as “Icon of Tomorrow” of US teen magazine J-14.
The Kids’ Choice Awards 2012 was held last March 31 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California, and was hosted by Hollywood actor Will Smith. (Bulletin Entertainment Online)
