Kuwento ni Aiza, "Kadarating lang namin from our series of shows in the States kasama ang Sessionistas, and it was a success.

"And now, excited ako dahil bago naman ang gagawin ko with my concert with Cooky sa Friday sa Music Museum. It's jazz and blues.

"First major concert ko rin ito for 2011, kaya I'm so excited.

"At first time ko nga to have a concert with Cooky, na isa sa mga magagaling nating singers."

I'll Be Seeing You," "Someone To Watch Over Me," "Power of Two," at "Crazy Thing Called Love."

DOWN AND OUT.

To work.'

"Pero whatever it is na meron sa personal life ko, sa akin na yun.

"Kasi, merong iba na all-out sila masyado.

So, at least, you have yourself...

"Nag-lay low ako ng four years," pagbabalik-tanaw niya.

GOOD VS. FAMOUS.

"Well, music ito, e," aniya.

"Kumbaga, right now, uso ang acoustic.

"Four years from now, mauuso ang banda...

"Another four years, iba na naman ang mauuso. Trend, e.

"And, of course, ganoon talaga.

"Mature na ako pagdating sa ganyan, kasi not all popular singers are good singers. You must always remember that.

"So, I'd rather be good than famous," deklara pa ni Aiza.

FAN OF BITUIN.

Grabe! Hayup ang babaeng 'yan!

"Iba si Bito [nickname ni Bituin], kahit na saan mo siya ilagay—mapa-theater, she's a good actress also.

"And when she sings, talagang full of heart. Passionate talaga.

"Ginawa niya yung Jesus Christ Superstar, siya yung nag-Judas... Pare, hayup! Oh, my goodness!

"Pero yun ang maganda sa kanya, kasi no matter how great she is sa craft niya, very, very down to earth pa rin siya.

"And very eager to teach other people or share her knowledge sa ibang tao."

ISANG DEKADA.

"Just because hindi sila marketable masyado. Just because they're not being too commercial.

"Yun 'yong greatest frustration ko.

"I feel we have a lot of great singers. I mean, take for instance, si Charice Pempengco.

I was one of the judges.

"Walang growth. Walang ibang choice."

THE POWER OF TV. Dagdag pa ni Aiza, "Pero if you're a TV station... Ang TV is sobrang powerful ngayon. Television has the power to change things.

Aniya, "Wala na kasi tayong musical shows, e.

"Wala na tayong Ryan Ryan Musikahan. Wala na tayong mga The Sharon Cuneta Show before na may kantahan talaga. Wala na!

"Ngayon, meron tayong Party Pilipinas, ASAP, pero very, very limited na kantahan, dahil, mostly, promotions.

IS THE LOCAL MUSIC INDUSTRY DYING?

"Well, I think, meron pa ring mga lumalaban," sambit niya.

"Sina Ogie [Alcasid, OPM President], talagang very adamant siya for this.

"So, hangga't may lumalaban, hindi mamamatay 'yan.

"Pero it would do the industry a lot of help if these network giants would only realize that they could do so much, by just allotting five minutes na ma-expose yung magagaling talaga...

"Honestly, I feel watak-watak rin, e," palagay niya.

"Eto, makikita mo 'yan sa Awit Awards.

"Take for instance, Awit Awards, ilan ang pumupuntang singers at mga taga-industriya diyan?

Nandoon sila to support.

"Paano natin mae-expect ang mga taong 'yan to support us if we ourselves don't support each other?

"If lahat tayo, kumpetisyon, na, 'Uy, mas magaling ako ke ganito, ganyan.'

"'Kapag siya nag-ganito, hindi ko susuportahan!' Wala!

"Right now, sobrang pamatay, e. Nag-i-start nang mamatay, e.

"So, instead of competing with each other, why not help each other?

"Kapag okey na ulit, then start competing again."

"Ako, say, sa Awit Awards, example, i-set natin na every second Saturday of September, let's say is Awit Awards.

"So, doon man lang, lahat ng tao...

"I think it's all about supporting each other talaga na hindi lang yung superficial support na go, ganyan, ganito.

"It's more of, if you think these artists need help, even if kakumpitensiya mo siya, you can help him," saad ni Aiza.

as for the interview, I would recommend that aiza may call up everyone to turn the spear.

what comes in, is international TV business habits, and a "colonial" way of selling foreign program cheap enough to undermine local production. the trick here is also with franchises, and sueing anyone who attempts to create a local, genuine singing contest. probably they have even a patent on the blue color in "idol".

the TV oligarchs need to get encouraged to create programs to sell abroad. break into viacom markets. what they are capable of, is definitely better, more heart, more talent, more truth. though less shallow hype + gloss, and less budget.
government should do something about this. like US government is helping music and movie export deliberately.
there is bollywood, k-pop, swedish music industry.
philippines - yes they can!! just do it.
this would mean turning the spear.

daldalita and andres de saya had lovely music scenes, produced inhouse. with some adjustments, this kind of comedy can sell in various european countries. just someone needs to break the unwritten rules and start a new business.
the younger singers grew up with the internet. they have digested global culture, they are totally cool and compatible. with good songs, they can sell world wide.
then, TV oligarchs need not adopt negative trends from the outside.
