Rhap Salazar is happy about Charice’s success

Rhap Salazar admitted he is slowly getting used to acting now that the teen-oriented series LUV U has entered its second season. “Iba rin kasi pag nag-e-expect eh. Pero siyempre pinagdasal naman namin at mas ginalingan pa namin ito. Kaya happy kami nagka-second season na. Pagdating sa acting naman, masaya lang ako kasi medyo kumbaga absorbed ko na yung role ko. At first medyo mahirap mag-adjust pero ngayon okay na. Okay naman kami sa set. Masaya naman palagi. Siyempre hindi nawawala yung tawanan pero pag te-take na, dapat seryoso, ganun,” he told Push.com.ph.
Currently playing the role of class bully Maximillo Mariano in LUV U, Rhap said he is not bothered if some people will mistakenly assume he is also like that in real life. “May na-meet ako na fan na sabi sa akin naiinis daw yung lola niya sa role ko! Ang sabi ko naman sa TV lang yun, kumbaga iba ako pag sa personal, iba si Rhap kay Max. Madami namang natutuwa sa role ko, may mga naiinis din. Pero for me, pag may mga naiinis natutuwa ako kasi ibig sabihin nun parang nagiging effective yung role ko,” he shared.
In their new season, Rhap said fans of the teen-oriented show can expect more hilarious situations and challenges which will be faced by the LUV U barkada. “Actually ganun pa rin, mas marami pa ring pang-aaway. Parang sa bagong yugto ng LUV U, ako na yung madalas na mabu-bully. Pero iba pa rin pag gumanti si Max,” he added
Rhap also came to the defense of his good friend and fellow singer Charice, who raised eyebrows when she showed off her new image. “Now hindi kami masyado nag-uusap unlike before kasi busy siya and wala kaming time minsan na magkita. Nag-uusap naman kami through Twitter. Lahat naman ng tao siguro may pang-ju-judge na nangyayari. Kumbaga malaya silang mag-judge. Kanya-kanyang opinion yan talaga at saka yung mga Pilipino talaga ganun. Siguro naman she’s happy whatever she’s doing. Happy siya kung ano siya ngayon, kung ano yung look niya ngayon and I’m very proud of her,” he said.
Rhap also came to the defense of his good friend and fellow singer Charice, who raised eyebrows when she showed off her new image. “Now we don't talk as much as before because she's busy and we don't have time to meet. But we talk through Twitter. Everybody judges. In other words, they are free to make judgement. It's their respective opinions, and most Filipinos are like that. I think she’s happy with whatever she’s doing. She's happy with who she is right now, with whatever her look is right now and I'm very proud of her,” he said.
Now that Charice is one of the judges on X-Factor Philippines, Rhap said he is proud and happy for her new accomplishment. “Siyempre aabangan ko yun kasi hindi lang dahil sa mga judges pati yung mga contestants din kasi mas iba kasi yung dating ng X-Factor compared sa ibang singing contests, parang total performer talaga yung sa X-Factor hindi lang yung singing yung pinag-uusapan,” he said.
Now that Charice is one of the judges on X-Factor Philippines, Rhap said he is proud and happy for her new accomplishment. “Of course, I'll be looking forward to it, not only for the judges but also because of the contestants because X-Factor has a different approach compared to other singing contests. It's like X-Factor is for the total performer and not just singing that is being discussed,” he said.
The talented 16-year-old also shared what he misses most about Charice. “Nakaka-miss siya ng tao, lagi siyang naghu-hug, especially pag nagkikita kami. At saka yung mga pangangamusta niya,” he told Push.com.ph.
