MANILA, Philippines – Actress-host KC Concepcion defended international singing sensation Charice against critics who were saying that she does not deserve to be one of the judges of ABS-CBN’s “The X-Factor Philippines.”
Concepcion, who is the host of the talent show, said Charice “had experienced things na hindi naman na-experience ng marami rito sa Philippine showbiz.”
“Siyempre ibang level din ‘yung competition na hinaharap niya every day ng career niya kasi hindi rin basta-basta ang nakaka-perform siya doon,” she said.
"Of course, the competition she faces everyday in her career is in a different level because you can't just perform over there," she said.
“So kahit papaano sa tingin ko, meron din naman siyang pwedeng ibahagi sa atin nab aka hindi natin alam na napagdaanan niya, natutunan niya,” she added.
"So in spite of it all, I think she has something to offer to us that we may not know she has gone through and learned from,” she added.
Concepcion then appealed to the public to stop judging Charice.
“It’s easy kasi to judge someone na wala tayo doon sa pwesto niya. But the international scene is also hard like Philippine showbiz, so baka may iba ring nangyayari na hindi natin alam na naituro at nakatulong kay Charice,” she explained.
"It's easy to judge someone when we're not in their position. But the international scene is also hard like Philippine showbiz, so maybe there are things that happened that we don't know about that have taught and helped Charice,” she explained.
Aside from Charice, Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera will also judge “The X-Factor Philippines.”
Concepcion said the show will premiere in June.
