MANILA, Philippines -- The girl group A.K.A. Jam was evicted from ABS-CBN's "The X Factor Philippines" on Sunday night after receiving the lowest number of votes.
Two groups, mentored by Gary Valenciano, found themselves at the bottom two with Daddy's Home also receiving fewer votes from viewers.
A.K.A. Jam performed Tamia's "Missing You" while Daddy's Home did their version of the OPM hit "Maging Sino Ka Man" for the judges' save.
Judges Martin Nievera and Charice voted to boot out Daddy's Home, while Pilita Corrales picked A.K.A. Jam.
Valenciano then decided to vote to evict the girls, resulting in a deadlock in the judges' votes.
"First, again I want to thank all the fans of Daddy's Home sa grabeng suporta nila ngayon. I want to thank all the judges here because we all decided to put the six girls to come back and perform. Mahirap kasi parang mga anak ko ito," he said.
Under X Factor rules, if the four judges' votes are deadlocked, the contestant with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated. Since A.K.A. Jam received only 4.42% of the votes compared to 5.53% for Daddy's Home, the girls were sent packing.
There are now nine remaining finalists in the first season of "The X-Factor Philippines." They are: Modesto Taran and Joan Da in the Over 25's category; Take-Off and Daddy's Home in the Groups category; Jeric Medina, Gabriel Maturan and Kedebon Colim in the Boys category; and KZ Tandingan and Allen Jane Sta. Maria in the Girls category.
